WHO WE ARE
Talbert House is a community-wide nonprofit network of social services with over 30 proven programs focusing on prevention, assessment, treatment and reintegration.
Each year, Talbert House helps nearly 24,000 men, women and children across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky overcome adversity to become healthy and productive citizens through its programs in community corrections, mental health, substance abuse and welfare-to-work.
Talbert House was founded as an experiment to integrate ex-offenders back into the community. In August 1965, with a budget of $10,000 from private donations, the first halfway house program opened.
Today, Talbert House operates multiple service sites in conjunction with its affiliate, Centerpoint Health, throughout Greater Cincinnati. The services are offered to a broad-based population with the agency’s mission in mind: to improve social behavior and enhance personal recovery and growth. Talbert House served 24,000 children, adolescents, and adults in FY 2009 in over 30 programs at 20 locations.
Talbert House creates innovative, evidenced-based programs that are proven to solve tough social problems that impact all members of the community. Through comprehensive and proven solutions to behavioral health challenges, Talbert House is building a stronger community…one life at a time.

Our business model is comprised of three classifications of services: Programs, Enterprises, and Affiliations, so the agency can operate more effectively and better serve the community.
