Donations2Dollars was founded in 2009, by Marc Fisher, as an outgrowth of the Fisher Foundation. The Fisher Family has extensive backgrounds in philanthropic work and fundraising. Their history, along with the support of philanthropic advisors, has enabled them to bring a unique perspective to a business model that is both donor and nonprofit focused.
How it works:
- Talbert House solicits donations such as stereo equipment, golf clubs, jewelry, hand bags, antiques, and many more items.
- A digital photo is taken of the merchandise
- The items are placed on eBay
- Biddings bring in a high sale
- Item is packed and shipped
- Proceeds go to the Talbert House
Donors receive acknowledgement & recognition, a tax deduction, ability to donate without reaching into their pocket book, and another way to give back to the organization.
