2,600 clients in Brown County
Turner Construction Company Donates Time and Services to Transform Facility
Cincinnati, OH – Talbert House, a non-profit network of social services, in conjunction with Turner Construction Company, is opening their new Mt. Orab location on Thursday, October 1, 2009.
The Talbert House Mt. Orab project began as a community outreach project started by a group of Turner Construction Company’s newly hired employees taking part in a new program entitled Leadership Turner.
The Leadership Turner program, developed by Turner Construction Company’s Ohio office, is designed to help new employees form a solid cultural foundation at Turner, while building relationships both internally and externally. As part of the program, employees are asked to develop a community service project idea, present it to their senior management team, and then lead all aspects involved in completing the project, including fundraising, project execution and volunteer initiatives.
“Our business approach is founded on our continued commitment to, and engagement in, the communities in which we work,” stated Turner Construction Company Vice President and General Manager, Ken Jones. “Leadership Turner is a great way to reinforce this priority for our new hires from ‘day one’ of their careers at Turner.”
Leadership Turner in conjunction with Talbert House, numerous local contractors, and volunteers renovated the 2,400 sq. ft. building and transformed it into a new facility consisting of several office spaces, group rooms, a waiting area, and adequate parking space – sufficient enough to serve the 2,600 clients in need of mental health and substance abuse treatment services seen in Brown County.
Talbert House, along with Leadership Turner, will host an open house at the facility at 116 N. High Street, Mt. Orab, on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 3:30 pm to 7 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m.
“This renovation wouldn’t have been possible without the commitment from Turner and the subcontractors who have all generously supported our clients,” said Neil Tilow, Talbert House President and CEO. “This facility is going to enable us to provide quality substance abuse and mental health care to Brown County residents for years to come.”
Leadership Turner is being initiated within the company’s four Ohio offices – located in Columbus, Toledo, Cleveland and Cincinnati. Each office has taken on a different project in helping their community.
