CINCINNATI—Talbert House’s Executive Curriculum for Emerging Leaders (EXCEL) received the Program Excellence Award from the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) and was a finalist in the Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations (OANO) 2008 Nonprofit Excellence Award.
EXCEL is a year-long nonprofit training program to develop and nurture the future leadership of the sector. EXCEL features a curriculum taught by local business professionals, personalized development plans, mentoring, project learning and networking. The United Way of Greater Cincinnati is a sponsor.
ASPA honored EXCEL at its 25th Annual Public Administrator of the Year Awards Luncheon in April. The Program Excellence Award demonstrates exceptional productivity, performance, effectiveness or innovation that has provided highly responsive service to its customers. As a winner, EXCEL also was recognized during Greater Cincinnati's Public Service Recognition Week in May.
EXCEL was a finalist for OANO’s Ohio Nonprofit Excellence Award, which recognizes creativity, execution, achievement, and overall excellence of a specific project or program completed by an Ohio nonprofit in 2007.
The deadline for EXCEL’s 2008-2009 class is Monday, July 14. Applicants with nonprofit management experience with a bachelor’s (or equivalent) and five years of experience in personnel, budget, policy and procedure, program integrity or similar activities are encouraged to apply.
