The 13th Annual Team Up Cincinnati
raises $55,000 for Talbert House
The golf outing is a partnership with UC Athletics Department
CINCINNATI—Talbert House raised $55,000 at the 13th Annual Team Up Cincinnati Golf Outing in June. University of Cincinnati Athletics Department again partnered with Talbert House to host the event, which featured UC Football Coach Brian Kelly as speaker and honorary chair.
A hundred golfers played in Team Up Cincinnati, held at Maketewah Country in Bond Hill. Several students from the football team volunteered at the event. Master presenting sponsor was U.S. Bank.
Team Up Cincinnati, a partnership between Talbert House and the University of Cincinnati Athletics Department, was formed in 1996 to address issues surrounding adolescent substance abuse. The partnership focuses on prevention and education with a goal of empowering student-athletes to create a culture in which substance abuse is not tolerated, to be positive role models for children, and to encourage responsible living and community service.
Talbert House operates in several Hamilton County schools to prevent adolescent substance abuse.
“We appreciate the community support for the event year after year, especially during the recession,” said Event Chair Rick Anderson. “Talbert House and UC both have a strong commitment to student achievement, and I’m proud we are able to help continue these services.”
