12th Annual Team Up Cincinnati Golf Outing & Kickoff
to benefit Talbert House
Guests to meet UC coaches and student-athletes at new Kickoff event
CINCINNATI—Talbert House is hosting the 12th Annual Team Up Cincinnati Golf Outing with a new kickoff event, in partnership with the University of Cincinnati Athletics Department, on Sunday June 22 and Monday June 23.
Introduced this year, Team Up Cincinnati's Kickoff will be held Sunday, June 22, at the Richard E. Lindner Center at the University of Cincinnati Varsity Village. The kickoff features an auction, children's activities and a tour of the 235,000-square-foot Lindner Center, a facility which houses UC's Big East renowned sports programs. Guests will have the opportunity to meet UC coaches and student-athletes, including Brian Kelly, Bearcats football coach and the 2007 Big East Conference Coach of the Year.
The golf outing starts at noon on Monday, June 23. The format is a shotgun-scramble at Maketewah Country Club in Bond Hill. The golf course at Maketewah has been selected as a site for U.S. Open Championship qualifying rounds for nearly four decades and has hosted other major local and regional championships.
All proceeds from Team Up Cincinnati benefit Talbert House school-based services.
Team Up Cincinnati, a partnership between Talbert House and the University of Cincinnati Athletics Department, was formed in 1996 to address issues surrounding adolescent substance abuse. The partnership focuses on prevention and education with a goal of empowering student-athletes to create a culture in which substance abuse is not tolerated, to be positive role models for children, and to encourage responsible living and community service.
Team Up Cincinnati is sponsored by Mercer, Cox Financial and The Standard. Corporate sponsorship is available. Kelly is Team Up Cincinnati's honorary chairperson with Rick Anderson serving as event chairperson.
