Talbert House honors seven for their commitment to the community
Talbert House recognized seven individuals whose work has made a positive difference in the community. Larry Galluzzo of Skilled Care Pharmacy, Virgil & Sherry Reed of Time Warner Cable, Stephen & Beatrice Rosedale of CommuniCare Health Services and Bill & Bonnie Rumpke of Rumpke Consolidated Companies were honored with a community service award at Talbert House's 40th Anniversary Dinner on March 20.
Biographies of the 40th Anniversary Community Service Honorees:
Larry Galluzzo
Larry Galluzzo is the Founder and President of Skilled Care Pharmacy, a full service pharmacy founded in 1981 that serves the needs of residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities. During his career, he co-founded Net-Rx, a purchasing group that helps privately owned pharmacies stay in business, and Excel CSO, a group service organization serving the Long Term Care market. Skilled Care participates in the University of Cincinnati's College of Pharmacy intern and extern programs. With Mr. Galluzzo’s support, Skilled Care generously donates to the United Way, The Abuse & Rape Crisis Center of Warren County and Thanksgiving Food for the Community. A true sports enthusiast, he plays golf and has coached basketball, baseball and softball at Wyoming High School. Mr. Galluzzo is the father of four children.
Virgil & Sherry Reed
Virgil Reed was named President of Time Warner Cable Southwest Ohio Division in 1987 and has been involved in the cable television industry since 1976. Mr. Reed is President of the Board of the Boy Scouts of America Dan Beard Council and serves on the board of Seven Hills School and on the advisory boards of the Junior League of Cincinnati and the University of Cincinnati School of Electronic Media. He has previously served on the board of the Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce, the Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati, Greater Cincinnati Television Educational Foundation, Urban League of Greater Cincinnati and The Wellness Community. His wife, Sherry, is an active homemaker and previously was a Regional Vice President of Leasing for JMB/Federated Realty. Mrs. Reed volunteers with the Cincinnati Horticultural Society, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and Seven Hills School. She supports many philanthropic causes including, the Salvation Army, the American Council of the Blind and numerous veterans organizations. Mr. and Mrs. Reed have two children.
Stephen & Beatrice Rosedale
Stephen Rosedale founded CommuniCare Health Services in 1984, where he serves as Chairman of the Board and CEO. CommuniCare Health Services has evolved into a family of companies specializing in nursing home, retirement centers, assisted living, home care and rehabilitation services. Healthcare, with a focus in Alzheimer’s disease and traumatic brain injury, has been Mr. Rosedale’s lifelong passion. He served two years in the United States Army and has served on the boards of Adath Israel Synagogue, Yavneh, Cincinnati Hebrew Day School, Jewish National Fund and Halom House. His wife, Beatrice, has a bachelor’s and doctorate in Psychology from Temple University. Mrs. Rosedale has worked at CommuniCare as a psych assistant and Vice President of Environmental Services.
William Sr. & Bonita Rumpke
Bill Rumpke Sr. is President, CEO and Chairman of the Board at Rumpke Consolidated Companies. He is also President of Rumpke Enterprises, President of Legacy Inc., and Owner and President of Rumpke Amusements. Throughout his tenure at Rumpke, he has served as vice president, treasurer and secretary. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park and Museum. Mr. Rumpke also has served on the Cincinnati Leadership Council and the Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce. His wife, Bonnie, is an active homemaker who recently earned her bachelor’s in Art from the College of Mount St. Joseph and is a member of the Queen City Artists and the Quilting Friends Club. Mr. and Mrs. Rumpke have six children and 12 grandchildren.

Four hundred guests supported Talbert House as the agency celebrated 40 years of service to the community at the 40 th Anniversary Dinner at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza. The dinner, with its 1960s theme, was chaired by Richard Weiland and Yvonne Robertson and grossed over $260,000 – the agency’s most successful fundraiser to date. Talbert House, one of the region’s largest behavioral health and human services agencies, develops and delivers services in the areas of mental health, community corrections, substance abuse and welfare-to-work.
Since 1965, Talbert House’s mission is to be a progressive, multi-service, community-based nonprofit agency. Talbert House serves a broad population and develops and delivers services in mental health, community corrections, substance abuse and welfare-to-work. These services have two basic purposes: to improve social behavior and enhance personal recovery and growth.
