CINCINNATI—Talbert House, a nonprofit social service agency, hosted its 43rd annual luncheon in September with more than 300 in attendance. At the luncheon, Ray Brokamp, Vice Mayor David Crowley and Miriam West were honored with awards given by the agency.

“These three individuals have contributed so much to our community and continue to do so,” said Talbert House president Neil Tilow. “It was a privilege to recognize them.”

Ray Brokamp received the Ernest Talbert Award. Brokamp recently retired after 22 years as executive director at Leadership Cincinnati. He is also the former superintendent of Cincinnati Public Schools and Walnut Hills High School principal.

Vice Mayor David Crowley received the Agnes Seasongood Good Government Award. Crowley is vice mayor of Cincinnati and has served on City Council since 2001. He has had a successful career managing agencies and programs providing social services, community action and capacity building.

Miriam West received the Community Service award. West is the retired founding director of Cincinnati Youth Collaborative, and she continues to advocate for children and their futures.

At the event, Dr. E.B. Silberstein was honored for serving 40 years on the Talbert House board of trustees. Silberstein served as board chairperson in 1974-1975 and now serves on the program and planning committee.
