Talbert House announces Amelia Orr as director

CINCINNATI — Talbert House is pleased to announce the appointment of Amelia Orr as director of school-based services.

In her new role, Orr is responsible for the coordination of the agency’s school-based services to 30 schools in five school districts. She oversees the Talbert House programs of Cincy AfterSchool, Inter-Agency School Crisis Team, Project PASS (Partnerships for Academic Success in Schools) and Project Wrap.

Before working at Talbert House, Orr was executive director of Community Counseling and Crisis Center in Oxford. Previous to that position, Orr worked at Volunteers of America, Ohio River Valley for nine years.

Orr received a bachelor’s of Elementary Education and a master’s in Agency and Community Counseling from Xavier University and a graduate certificate in Counseling from University of Cincinnati. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor.

Talbert House is a community-wide nonprofit network of social services with 30 proven programs focusing on prevention, assessment, treatment and reintegration. Each year, Talbert House helps 25,000 men, women and children across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky overcome adversity to become healthy and productive citizens through its programs in community corrections, mental health, substance abuse and welfare-to-work.
