Talbert House receives 3-year CARF accreditation

CARF

CINCINNATI—The Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) recently re-accredited the behavioral health programs of Talbert House—the third consecutive CARF three-year accreditation for the nonprofit agency.

An agency receiving a three-year accreditation outcome has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable and accountable. Talbert House received its first CARF accreditation in 2004.

CARF listed 16 strengths of the organization. Among those are its involved board of trustees, a thoughtful leadership succession plan, the ‘grow your own’ internal recruitment model, the depth and breath of its quality improvement data, training opportunities made available to the community, client volunteer projects that build positive community relations and client self-esteem, dedicated staff members, staff team work, respect shown to clients, a seamless continuum of care, a safe and therapeutic environment for clients, crisis prevention available 24-hours-a-day in a rural setting, the employment of former clients through DocuPro, effective adolescent treatment and integrated primary care services.

Services accredited:

  • Case management for those with addictions and mental health needs (all ages)
  • Community housing for those with addictions (adult)
  • Crisis intervention for addictions and mental health needs (all ages)
  • Intensive outpatient treatment for those with addictions (all ages)
  • Outpatient treatment for those with addictions and mental health needs (all ages)
  • Prevention/diversion for those with addictions (all ages) and mental health needs (children)
  • Residential treatment for addictions and mental health needs (children)
