Talbert House takes over operations
of Southwestern Ohio Serenity Hall
HAMILTON—Effective July 1, Talbert House assumed operations for a halfway house formally known as Southwestern Ohio Serenity Hall (SOS Hall). Located in Hamilton, Talbert House Serenity Hall is a 34-bed halfway house program for men.
Talbert House Serenity Hall will serve Butler County. The program is licensed by Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) and Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services and is accredited by the American Correctional Association.
Serenity Hall first started as a drop-in center in 1968 and became a halfway house in 1971. “Talbert House is pleased to continue these services in Butler County for the area’s residents,” said Neil Tilow, Talbert House president. “We are confident we can meet the needs of the justice system, ODRC and the residents in our care.”
Talbert House Serenity Hall is a community corrections program that offers assessment, treatment, and reintegration for adult male ex-offenders in a residential setting. Services include case management, alcohol and drug treatment, criminality/behavior modification, collection of restitution, child support, education, employment readiness, verified and monitored community employment, and a variety of supportive activities. The average stay is three to five months.
The program is funded by ODRC.
