Richard Weiland gives Talbert House its largest donation
for the agency's 40th Anniversary

Richard Weiland of Hyde Park donated $100,000 for the agency’s 40th Anniversary, the largest donation given to the agency for this event. Weiland, a well-respected lobbyist, has been a Talbert House board member for 29 years and has served as its chairperson in the 1980s.

“I truly have never met any volunteer who is more committed to living out the mission of Talbert House. Dick believes wholeheartedly in the values of personal redemption and giving people another chance to improve their lives,” said Talbert House president Neil Tilow of Weiland. “His generous contribution of time, talent and support makes Talbert House a better place for over 20,000 people each year.”

Four hundred guests supported Talbert House as the agency celebrated 40 years of service to the community on Monday, March 20 at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza. The event, with its 1960s theme, was chaired by Weiland and Yvonne Robertson and grossed over $260,000 – the agency’s most successful fundraiser to date. Talbert House, one of the region’s largest behavioral health and human services agencies, develops and delivers services in the areas of mental health, community corrections, substance abuse and welfare-to-work.

Since 1965, Talbert House’s mission is to be a progressive, multi-service, community-based nonprofit agency. Talbert House serves a broad population and develops and delivers services in mental health, community corrections, substance abuse and welfare-to-work. These services have two basic purposes: to improve social behavior and enhance personal recovery and growth.
