As a struggling new mother, Latoya Hubbard was referred to Community Link for help finding a work placement. Community Link is a collaboration led by Talbert House that connects public assistance recipients with job placement and educational services.
Latoya’s first job assignment in a mailroom was successful. She was punctual and productive, and her good work was noticed. Latoya was then given a position as a receptionist at Community Link, and eventually hired by Talbert House full-time as an administrative specialist.
Latoya feels she has found her calling in helping clients at Community Link improve their lives. “I feel like I’m giving back. I’m doing something positive,” says Latoya.
