“A child was referred to our adolescent program when he was fifteen years old. He was a heroin addict who was using
with his family.
“We placed him in residential treatment. We focused on preventing relapse;
we focused on recovery. After three months of treatment, he moved into
independent living. He’s been out of services seven months now.
“He has two jobs, and this is the longest period of time he’s had sobriety since
he was fifteen. So, he’s excited about what’s ahead of him. He sees hope
for the future that he didn’t have in the past.”
