Having battled addiction for more than 25 years, Raymond traded life on the streets for life in his own apartment.
Raymond was introduced to Talbert House when he was referred to Extended Treatment to address his substance abuse issues. Homeless, he received assistance at a variety of Talbert House programs to meet his needs including Spring Grove Center, Second Chance Reentry and Shelter Plus Care. This continuum of services enabled Raymond to focus on his recovery while taking advantage of services including job readiness and placement, life skills and corrective thinking. He has remained sober, is employed and living independently.
Raymond credits Talbert House for helping him reach his goals. “Support was there for me every step of the way,” says Raymond. “I’m not homeless anymore, I attend NA (Narcotics Anonymous) meetings regularly, I have good friends and I’m able to hold down a job. Talbert House is a great place to go if you want to change your life.”
