Tyler: A Talbert House success story

Tyler
Tyler

Tyler began using drugs when he was 13 years old. By age 15, he was failing school and demonstrating destructive behaviors. He was court-ordered to attend Talbert House Alternatives, a residential substance abuse program for adolescent boys.

At Alternatives, Tyler learned that he could live without drugs. He got sober and also was able to succeed in his studies, raising his failing grades to As and Bs.

Tyler’s case manager, Nicole Ruprich, acknowledges his progress, “He is doing extremely well now. It’s a complete 180 (degrees).”

Tyler stepped down from Alternatives to Adolescent Substance Abuse Outpatient Services. He continues to do well, and is looking forward to attending high school in the fall, getting his driver’s license, and trying out for the football team.
