Fatherhood Celebration
Event Summary

Meacham Athletes for Fatherhood
Meacham Athletes for Fatherhood is a community-driven initiative supporting the Talbert House Fatherhood Project. Named in honor of Bob Meacham—former UC Assistant Athletic Director and Talbert House board chair—the program unites athletes and leaders to uplift fathers and strengthen families. Inspired by Meacham’s lifelong commitment to mentorship, family, and community, the initiative celebrates fatherhood and promotes positive engagement through resources, support, and outreach.
GOALS:
1. Raise Awareness about the critical role fathers play in their children’s lives and the impact of positive fatherhood on child development.
2. Provide Exposure for the Fatherhood Project and the generational benefit of being active, engaged fathers in which they and their children are encouraged to learn and grow.
3. Father/Child Activities – use local resources to create meaningful father/child experiences.
4. Provide a Platform for Athletes to use their influence and social media platforms to advocate for fatherhood and community involvement, leveraging their visibility to bring attention to the importance of fathers.
Meacham Athletes for Fatherhood includes professional athletes, local sports figures, college athletes and coaches to lead the charge by sharing their own fatherhood experiences and lending their influence to raise awareness. We’re proud to launch this initiative with the support of Justin Murray, Olivia Silverman, John Simmons, John Thomas, Tony Meacham, and Alex Meacham, whose leadership and commitment embody the heart of this mission.
