Talbert House Announces New Director of African American Engagement Workgroup
CINCINNATI – Talbert House is pleased to welcome Andre Whaley as its new Director of the African American Engagement Workgroup (AAEW). A Licensed Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience in social services and community engagement, Whaley has built partnerships and led initiatives focused on connecting individuals and communities with resources and support.
AAEW brings together faith-based organizations and community agencies to increase awareness of treatment resources in Hamilton County and help reduce accidental overdose rates. The workgroup focuses on reducing the stigma surrounding Substance Use Disorder and Opioid Use Disorder, educating the community about substances and connecting individuals with treatment and support.
Whaley has been a dedicated member of AAEW for the past three years and will now serve as the Director. He is also a Police Chaplain for the City of Mt. Healthy, serves on several advisory boards throughout Greater Cincinnati, and is the Senior Pastor of Emmanuel Temple Apostolic Church Lighthouse Ministries.
