Talbert House’s Engagement Center Nationally Recognized for Innovative Solution to the Addiction Crisis

Posted on: November 15, 2019

Cincinnati, OH —  Addiction Policy Forum, a leading national nonprofit, recognized Talbert House’s Engagement Center in its Ohio Innovations to Address Addiction report, spotlighting innovative programs that address addiction and provide support for families and communities.

“The Ohio Innovation Now report recognizes revolutionary programs, such as the Hamilton County Engagement Center, that are transforming the response to addiction in Ohio and offering solutions during a time of crisis” says Jessica Hulsey, founder of the Addiction Policy Forum.

The Hamilton County Engagement Center is a triage unit for individuals struggling with opiate addiction. The goal of the program is to connect men and women with immediate support as well as access to treatment services. Since opening in May 2018, the Engagement Center has served over 500 patients.

“The Engagement Center is the only program in southwest Ohio where somebody can get access to care and a bed immediately post-overdose,” says Teri Nau, Community Relations Director at Talbert House. “It is an honor to be awarded by the Addiction Policy Forum as an innovative solution to the addiction crisis.”
