CINCINNATI – Talbert House’s annual fundraiser Make Camp Possible raised over $70,000 on November 20, 2020 through take-home adventures. With the money raised more than 40 children will be able to attend Camp Possible at no cost next summer.
Due to COVID-19, the Make Camp Possible committee pivoted from an in-person event by providing camp-themed take-home meals from the Phoenix. The adventure theme continued with a Taste of Cincinnati Raffle that included multiple gift cards to local restaurant favorites and the Adventure Awaits Auction provided 9 lucky bidders with an adventure of their own. Photos of the Make Camp Possible @ Home event can be viewed on the Talbert House Facebook page.
Camp Possible is an individualized, therapeutic-based summer program for children ages 6-13 living with behavioral health challenges who need a safe, structured and stable environment when school is out of session. Campers attend for 8 weeks during their summer break and participate in traditional and non-traditional group therapy sessions.
Thanks to our generous sponsors and donors, campers can attend Camp Possible at no cost. Sponsors include Fifth Third Bank, Mrs. Robert D. Stern, Myriad Neuroscience, Ohio Capital Impact Corporation, USI Insurance Services and many more. Hosts were Josh and Julie Arnold, Stacy Cole and Neil Fairweather, Scot and Jen Feldmeyer, Carter and Stephanie Gaither, Genoa Healthcare Telepsychiatry, Midwest Mechanical Systems and Dan and Corinne Phillips.
Talbert House would also like to thank the Make Camp Possible committee, co-chaired by Scot Feldmeyer and Kristin O’Brien. Other committee members include Katie Beard, Danielle Brindisi, Stacy Cole, Theresa Gastright, Rachel Hermanson, Jacob Hessling, Jeanne Karrick, Jay Kasting, Corinne McSwain Phillips, Daniel Phillips, Alan Piker, Ariana Sanders, Katelyn Smith and Chris Ventura.
